Dr Sivanie Sewell BMedSci, BMBS, MRCP (UK) (Dermatology), FRCP is a UK trained, Surrey based Consultant Dermatologist and spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation, whose passion for Dermatology started while she was a fourth year medical student. She graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2006. After postgraduate training in General Medicine and obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians UK, she completed rigorous specialist training in Dermatology to become a Consultant Dermatologist in 2014. She initially worked as a Consultant Dermatologist in London before moving to Surrey and worked in Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Having started her private practice in Surrey in 2015, her private practice is well-established.
Dr Sewell is a Dermatologist, with specialist expertise in all skin conditions, looking after adults with skin conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea.
She is an expert Skin Cancer Specialist, with a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of skin cancers and pre-cancerous lesions. She offers the most thorough full body skin / moles checks for the detection of skin cancer.
As a highly skilled skin surgeon, Dr Sewell operates on skin lesions including skin cancers, moles, pre-cancerous lesions, skin tags, lumps and bumps both for medical reasons and cosmetic purposes.
Dr Sewell offers personalised skincare routines for patients where skincare would impact their skin condition and also offers lifestyle advice when appropriate.
In her previous NHS practice, Dr Sewell was actively involved in teaching and training of future Dermatologists and GPs and played a key role in multiple global research trials in Dermatology. She continues to teach doctors and other healthcare professionals and participates extensively in national and international conferences and has won several awards. She co-authored the renowned Treatment of Skin Disease Dermatology textbook and has published articles in leading Dermatology journals.
